Room 10 – Eden
Every year, large quantities of pollutants enter the world’s oceans and it is estimated that 80% of these pollutants come from land. Plastics, pesticides, fertilisers, detergents, industrial chemicals and oil are altering the marine ecosystem, contaminating waters and endangering biodiversity.
To represent this theme, the artist Giacomo Cossio was called upon to create the work Eden, an artistic action that took place a few days before the opening of the exhibition in this place and for this place. An architectural room, yellow as if it were a building site under construction, contains a roof garden completely painted black. In the course of the exhibition, plants will sprout again, take the paint off, flourish again and change the art installation, reminding us how one can always go back to life. And so can nature and the sea.
